We provide direct support to &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; families, educate the American public, and advance policy reform. &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;FEC&lt;/span&gt; has offices in Boston, Washington, D.C., and Minneapolis. &lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Roles &amp;amp; Responsibilities:&#9;&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;The Executive Department Intern is an integral member of the Executive Team. Family Equality Council seeks a motivated, assertive, responsible, self-directed individual to provide direct support to the Executive Office and Executive Director (ED).   This person will play a vital role in supporting the administrative efforts of the organization, including arranging travel accommodations, managing office supplies, assisting in event planning, and providing support on additional special projects. This individual will work in close partnership with the rest of the Executive team to ensure the successful execution of day-to-day operations of the organization.  &lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;The Executive Department intern will work in close partnership with the Executive Assistant and at the direction of the Executive Director at Family Equality Council.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Responsibilities &amp;amp; Qualifications:&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Projects will include, but are not limited to: &lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;•&#9;Assist in administrative and operational tasks to support the overall work of the &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;FEC&lt;/span&gt; Boston office&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Execute writing and research assignments, as needed&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Develop and execute a long-term, extensive research project that benefits both the intern and organization at large. &lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Investigate &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; current events, along with local and national trends, in order to keep the Executive team up to date on important developments within the movement.&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Prepare draft talking points, blog posts, and other written materials on behalf of the Executive Director.&lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Qualifications:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Working towards a college degree &lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Strong written and verbal communication skills&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Extremely detail-oriented, well-developed organizational skills, and ability to multi-task&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Ability to work independently and proactively &lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Sensitive to diversity and able to work respectfully on &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;LGBT&lt;/span&gt; issues including adoption, marriage equality, and family policy &lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;Time Commitment:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Start and end dates are flexible;&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Individual can hold the position as either a part-time or full-time intern, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours/week;&lt;br /&gt;&#10;•&#9;Applications are currently being accepted&lt;br /&gt;&#10;To apply, please email a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to:&lt;br /&gt;&#10;Please send a resume, cover letter and writing sample to Rebecca Sniderman, Executive Assistant at rsniderman@familyequality.org   &lt;/p&gt;&#10;&#10;&#9;&lt;p&gt;We enjoy working in a team-based environment and value the benefits of a diversified workplace.
