Receptionist/secretary/admin needed for small law firm
at Adam Kay in Texas-Dallas
I am a 30 year old attorney and I operate a solo practice law firm in Dallas that deals with employment law and some family law and personal injury. I am fortunate enough to have enough business that I need some help around the office with administrative/clerical duties. I am looking for somebody who will primarily be the receptionist and help with secretarial duties and various other administrative duties as necessary. As the firm expands, I hope to be able to promote this person to office manager.
Permanent duties would include:
Answering phones
Making calls on my behalf
Scheduling client meetings
Checking in clients when they come to the office
Additional duties will likely include as needed:
Drafting documents
Sending out mail
Filing/organizing
Placing supply orders
Client intake
Note taking
Responding to client emails
Running errands
Minor accounting
Excellent phone skills and professional demeanor/appearance are absolutely necessary. Experience in law firms, as a receptionist, or in customer service are not necessary but obviously experience helps. The professional demeanor is far, far more important than experience because in many cases you will be the first person they see and your appearance and demeanor will reflect upon me and my work.
You must be comfortable working in an extremely small office. Most of the time only you and I will be in the office and I will be very busy. From time to time I have interns and contract paralegals working in the office. For this reason, it's important that we have a great working relationship.
