TransCEND (Transgender Care and Education Needs Diversity) Program Manager

Job Objective: The TransCEND Program Manager will ensure high quality HIV prevention services are delivered to transgender women and their partners.


Coordinate TransCEND program activities, including HIV prevention and education groups, community building events, resource development and staff training.
Develop and maintain a wide-ranging resource network for transgender women in the Greater Boston area.
Provide clients with easily accessible and low threshold services that operate within the harm reduction framework. This includes assisting clients with accessing support services on triage, walk-in, and as-needed basis.
Ensure proper documentation procedures are maintained including timely submission of reports, data collection and overall maintenance of records and other required paperwork.
Coordinate the training, scheduling, supervision and professional development of peer educators, direct service staff and volunteers.
Monitor progress of workplan completion for funded interventions and proactively strategize with team to ensure contract goals are met.
Assist Department Director with monitoring program budget and reconciling expenses.
Conduct outreach activities, community workshops and provider trainings as needed.
Implement risk reduction sessions and facilitate access to medical, housing, financial, mental health and legal services as appropriate.
Lead steering committee to ensure client and community feedback and engagement.
Provide rapid testing in accordance with protocols.
Attend and participate in AAC, collaborator and funder meetings and trainings.
Perform other duties as required.


Experience working in a multi-cultural environment with issues that include HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, active substance use, poverty, homelessness, commercial sex work and mental health.
Commitment to harm reduction philosophy and experience delivering low-threshold, easily accessible services to transgender women.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office.
Self-directed, motivated and flexible with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Significant awareness of the health and psychosocial issues transgender women may experience.
Proven ability to network and maximize resources for transgender women through collaborations.
Previous experience with behavior change models, such as Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, and other relapse prevention/support techniques.
Significant awareness of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and boundaries.
Valid state ID to enter community venues for outreach purposes.
Ability to work some evening and weekends.
Ability to support the mission and goals of AIDS Action Committee.
