Lambda Legal seeks a Legal Administrative Manager for its National Headquarters in New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Legal Administrative Manager will oversee the administrative and legal support systems of the legal department. The manager will be responsible for hiring, training and supervising two legal assistants and occasional interns in New York, as well as coordinating and assisting with legal support work (production and filing of legal documents, discovery, etc.) in New York and in Lambda Legal's other regional offices. The Legal Administrative Manager will create and maintain office systems to keep the legal department running smoothly. In addition, the Legal Administrative Manager will provide direct legal and administrative support to the Deputy Legal Director and other attorneys as needed, assisting them in providing legal representation to LGBT individuals and those with HIV.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have legal support experience, including cite-checking, production of legal documents for court filing, and research using Westlaw/Lexis, and a demonstrated ability to excel in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines. Candidates with some administrative supervision experience preferred. The successful candidate will display excellent leadership and oral and written communication skills; will be well-organized, detail-oriented, highly computer literate, and an adept multi-tasker. Prior work on behalf of the LGBT community and/or persons with HIV is a plus.
SALARY
Up to 40K, commensurate with experience within the guidelines of Lambda Legal scale. Excellent employer paid benefits package including medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance and generous employer contribution to retirement account. Generous vacation.
